This last song I translated, by the way, may just be one of the kiddiest she's got (and yet look at the innuendo in it! Unbelievable! Thankfully, it's as dirty as she's ever gotten.). It was her first single--the one used to test the waters. I think she probably recorded this when she was still eleven, judging by the release date (September 20-something, 2001. Her birthday is on August 2.)

Her most mature in terms of lyrics/sound are "A quelle heure?" and "Celle qui bat des ailes," in case you haven't listened to those yet. Both are from the second album. Another of my mature favorites, and also from the second album, is "Lettre," which I just find incredibly moving.

I recently updated each post here with MP3s, so you can get your hands on all of these songs without breaking much of a sweat.

You translate with such passion! Wish I could drop by and go to lunch with you, then we could REALLY get into those lyrics!

Yes, the innuendo you refer is definitely there, but remember she's the singer not the writer. Who knows for sure whether or not her song composers truly understand read Prissou's personal passions.
One can only guess.

I'm intrigued with the lines, "sur les talons hauts, the monde est plus beau". Seems like little girls just can't wait to get those heels on! Is it the "pedestal effect", or do they simply want to be taller than they are? Hmmm.

That high heel reference is virtually the same as how Melody refers to it in her song, "Juego a ser major" (Playing at being Older"), on her first CD--recorded when she was about 10.

This is the first song I heard by Pris (kinda stumbled apon it) so it holds a special place in my heart.

One question - does anyone else like that "growling" thing she does with her voice? I think it is so cool!!
